trouble brewing on the horizon.....

it just keeps getting better(sarcasm... im sure...)

about 9 hours ago we lost contact on radar with one of our planes, and radio contact with the crew.

untill we find the plane, and the crew, and then find out what caused it to happen, all operations with the squadron are halted.

now i havent been here all that long, i now know that this is different from iraq, a different kind of warrior we are fighting. oppertunistic, guerrilla style warfare.

other fun news...

3 days ago i was out on a security patrol(as squadron command duty officer) and i encountered a suspicious package, and footsteps leading away from the fenceline. EOD was called out, and the package was safely disposed of. i showed security the footprints, and they had me follow them out(why i still dont know... needless to say i am still shaking..) where we encountered a handful of fighters(i am glad i remembered how to actually use that M-16 they gave me)

for the record i am ok(save for my nerves...) 2 of the security guys were hit, but they look to make a full recovery, and the 4 jihadists have met their fate. 1 of them in a dismal, dishonorable way... from a bullet fired by a woman. this woman. i hope allah turns him away at the gate and sends him to the burning reaches of the deepest hell.

i just want to state for the record that i want to come home... i do not like it here. i hate afghanistan, i want to come home.

(roughly 2:30pm pacific) we were awakened by a warning siren, god not again. i was supposed to have a flight today, but as it sits right now i will be going back to bed here soon, and then possibly the day off. i wish i had a way to get into SL. days off suck out here. there is nothing to do.

early early this morning there was a possible security threat. we were all awoke by the grim stacatto of small arms fire. after the shooting stopped, we all took a muster, all present and accounted for. we are going to be flying out to a better, more secure location today. one with a real hangar and a real runway. im now learning to fly out with EA-6B prowlers. they are a fun airplane to fly, however they are kinda slow. OJT by fire is what i am calling this. before this deployment, i had never been in a prowler before. ever. but i got enough familiarization on the way over to keep me alive when the shit hits the fan. the time change is killing me. well i have to go load up. we're flying out in about 2 hours. hopefully i will be able to post more often than once in a while. we're going to a bigger city. where we have a "base" so to speak. one where we have real security patrols. not impromptu groups made up of squadron personnel. actual basse security. yay. still have to carry this damn M-16 and this stupid M-9 pistol. the flak jacket is heavy, and i hate this damn helmet. i hope to god we arent here forever. im going crazy out here. someone help me. Well. i have around 3 days left on the island before i head for home.

then i come back 2 weeks later for an undetermined amount of time. i have missed everyone i know from SL alot. and i am looking forward to being home, and being able to talk to all of you again. i have tried to get SL to run and it wont even connect on the dialup connection. so i dont know how i will make another few weeks without it. well im gonna give up the ghost for the night, so enjoy and have a great night.

aside from the shocking news of laborday morning, i am doing ok. still a bit shaken, as i have been a really really big croc hunter fan since the beginning. life long dream of working next to Mr and Mrs Irwin kind of fan. so it hurts. other than that, today i turn 28 years old. and i am only here long enough to change clothes and i am headed for the O club, convieniently placed about 25m from my current location well(looking out my window) maybe more like 40m.

anywho. i have found out that i will be here a lot longer than i expected. so to those looking to see me in world, not for a bit yet. *cries* i miss you guys and gals.

Steve Irwin, TV's Crocodile Hunter dies Monday Sept 4, 2006

Early this morning(0245), PDT, i heard on NWCN Channel 2, that Steve Irwin was killed. in a press release from Australia Zoo, zoo officials stated that Irwin was on a diving expedition on the great barrier reef, filming a documentary, and upon an encounter with a stingray, was impailed by the stingray's barb in the chest, possibly puncturing his heart, and ultimately died of the injury. his crew alerted medical personnel however the doctor pronounced him dead at the scene. he is survived by his wife terri, 8 year old daughter Bindy Sue, and 2 year old son Bob. He was 44 years old

the world has lost a ginormous icon this morning, i know i will keep his family in my prayers.

oh and dont ask why i was up at 3am. its a really really long story.

i cant help thinking this 2 weeks will take a month to go by.

it is only sunday. and nothing really going on. and monday is holilday. i have the duty this weekend this includes monday as well. also my yearly physical on tuesday(oh joy) and an explosive ordnance handlers physical on wednesday(another oh joy).

other than that i have not done all that much this last week or so.
we did get the aircraft up, so i might get some flights in this week. (yay) for some reason i want to go home, yet i also have this desire to stay up here and do more time. oh well. i dont know.

i think i am going to take a quick nap before i have to go to the hanger.

AWOL Soldier surrenders after 19 months

Any member of the armed forces who, without authority--

(1) fails to go to his appointed place of duty at the time prescribed;

(2) goes from that place; or

(3) absents himself or remains absent from his unit, organization, or place of duty at which he is required to be at the time prescribed; shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.

885. ART. 85. DESERTION

(a) Any member of the armed forces who--

(1) without authority goes or remains absent from his unit, organization, or place of duty with intent to remain away therefrom permanently;

(2) quits his unit, organization, or place of duty with intent to avoid hazardous duty or to shirk important service; or

(3) without being regularly separated from one of the armed forces enlists or accepts an appointment in the same or another on of the armed forces without fully disclosing the fact that he has not been regularly separated, or enters any foreign armed service except when authorized by the United States; is guilty of desertion.

(b) Any commissioned officer of the armed forces who, after tender of his resignation and before notice of its acceptance, quits his post or proper duties without leave and with intent to remain away therefrom permanently is guilty of desertion.

(c) Any person found guilty of desertion or attempt to desert shall be punished, if the offense is committed in time of war, by death or such other punishment as a court-martial may direct, but if the desertion or attempt to desert occurs at any other time, by such punishment, other than death, as a court-martial may direct.

887. ART. 87. MISSING MOVEMENT

Any person subject to this chapter who through neglect or design misses the movement of a ship, aircraft, or unit with which he is required in the course of duty to move shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.

899. ART. 99. MISBEHAVIOR BEFORE THE ENEMY

Any person subject to this chapter who before or in the presence of the enemy--

(1) runs away;

(2) shamefully abandons, surrenders, or delivers up any command, unit, place, or military property which it is his duty to defend;

(3) through disobedience, neglect, or intentional misconduct endangers the safety of any such command, unit, place, or military property;

(4) casts away his arms or ammunition;

(5) is guilty of cowardly conduct;

(6) quits his place of duty to plunder or pillage;

(7) causes false alarms in any command, unit, or place under control of the armed forces;

(8) willfully fails to do his utmost to encounter, engage, capture, or destroy any enemy troops, combatants, vessels, aircraft, or any other thing, which it is his duty so to encounter, engage, capture, or destroy; or

(9) does not afford all practicable relief and assistance to any troops, combatants, vessels, or aircraft of the armed forces belonging to the United States or their allies when engaged in battle;

shall be punished by death or such punishment as a court- martial may direct.

The reason i placed this in this post today, is that there is an article on aol.com about a soldier surrendering after going AWOL for 19 months. after reading so many of the posts by anti war groups saying how brave he is and what a hero he is and that he deserves a medal, i decided to come here, to speak my mind without any outside moderation.

the above articles are from the Uniformed Code of Military Justice. they apply to this young man's situation. keep in mind, from 0-29 days you are considered Unauthorized Absence, from 30-90 days you are counted AWOL(Absent without leave) and 91 days till you get caught, you are a deserter. he was gone for over a year. his attorney says he was meaning to turn himself in... that is to circumvent his getting nailed with article 85, Desertion. which can be punishable by death.

somewhere around the middle of the article on aol.com it mentions max punishment. however that is the maximums for NJP (non judicial punishment) or the most a CO can give someone without requesting a court-martial. a court-martial tribunal can give the max punishment described in the UCMJ. which the applicable articles above state can me death. there are a few more that would apply, but i got the big ones. the one that fits the bill is desertion. however the CO can rule under NJP for each, or ask for a special court-martial. this kids best bet is the NJP route. he can request the court-martial if he feels the punishment isnt right, however if he does this he could be signing his own death warrant. the posters on aol are ramping this up to be a topic on bashing the commander in chief, like he is completely to blame for this kid running away. this kid joined on his own, with a clear concience, knowing that in the time after 9/11 war was a distinct possibility, goes to iraq once, then runs away before he has to go again. Shaunny's cousin has been there 3 different times, my little brother is probably headed there after he finishes his training. this young man probably joined right after 9/11 to go wax some terrorist ass. and just like the WWII japanese(not at all like the pictures depicetd, were not bucktoothed midgets with thick glasses and pointy hats) these islamic fighters are not pushovers. remember, in the 80's these people's predecessors recieved american training, to fight against their opressors. these fighters we are up against are better suited to the environment, have more in the ranks, with more joining every day, and are willing to die for their beliefs. the 3 things you do not want to see in the enemy.

he knew what he was up against, and he chickened out.

oak harbor... day 2

well. japan would have been better. today i went to work out, and then to the chow hall (the one time i wish i was enlisted) 4 bucks for that i wouldnt call that a deal. then i came back to my room and took a long nap. hehe, i woke up in just enough time to go back and grab dinner. another 4 bucks, but this time it was much much better. the reason behind my enlisted comment above... O-1 and above are not entitled to rations-in-kind, and therefore are not guaranteed a "free" lunch. or any meal for that matter. we have to pay for all our meals. now that being said, paying to eat at the galley is better than eating mcdonalds(healthier) and more convienient... read closer...

tonight i am having SL withdrawls so i am attempting a dialup download of the Sl client, and will attempt a dialup login upon install. it will help pass the time. unless it lags so hard i cant stand it

i contemplated going to the water today but it never really got out of the 60's today. sposed to be warmer tomorrow. may take a trek to the water then.

to those that will read this tonight, hopefully i will see you in world, and if not. the lag got me.

oak harbor... day 1

nothing happened today. no... honest...

i sat in my office down in the ordnance shop(being the squadron ordnance officer, i have my own office, away from the hangar) and played yahoo games against Whip all day. except when i went and wandered around the spaces, making sure i was noticed.(if i dont make my presence known they wont even know i am here). yes as i mentioned in the last post. the japan detatchment is cancelled due to lack of equipment. being a reserve unit we lose aircraft if an active duty unit needs it. therefore the next 2 weeks are going to be interesting. i have a whole bunch of ordnance to check in on monday, or so says the email i recieved from Station Weps. oh joy. and on monday for the first 2 hours i will be the only one in the ordnance shop. so i will have a busy morning monday. but until then i will be relaxing and enjoying the weekend. mid 70's and clear all weekend(in western washington? you ask?... yes. being north of seattle, the olympic mountains shield us from the rain. yay for us. hehe) been invited to go fishing, yeh i am not sure i will take that offer.

other than that, not too much going on this weekend. (i picked a great time to hit AT) *rolls eyes*

well tomorrow morning i leave once again for beautiful Oak Harbor Washington... no SL for 2 whole weeks... (what shall i ever do!!!) the japan trip looks to be cancelled due to the fact that in the previous post i mentioned the APU burnt out of the plane we were supposed to be taking. and now there are no spares. therefore im going to be holding down the chair again. but it is paid chair time. i wont complain too loudly i guess. anywho...

i cant think of anything else to add at the moment... stay tuned to this channel for further updates. and maybe some pictures of the beautiful area. =)

a long weekend,,,(and not in the good sense either)

my weekend started kind of normal.
friday morning i had to run in to work for a few hours and finish up some things i hadn't finished. after that got finished i ran a quick load of laundry, suited up and headed for fairchild AFB. apon arival there, i realized i had forgot my toiletry bag, and had to go to the BX to get some standby's.

the call to Air Ops... "No Ma'am, the plane hasnt gotten off deck yet." was definately NOT what i wanted to hear. stop for dinner at the BK on base, then Ted calls from Missoula. "Allie, we're on the roll as we speak, see you in about an hour." i looked at my watch, 18:15. plane is running about an hour and a half late at this point.

19:35- "Ma'am, the P-3 is on deck" from the base ops airman, who was quite good looking, and so polite and went way out of his way to make sure my long wait was as pleasant as could be. i grabbed my suitcase and headed out the door. with a brief smile and thank you, to that airman(was actually an air force tech sergeant) i headed out the door to the plane.

flight went as planned to terminus in oak harbor.

the duty office berthing master list-*******, Allison M LCDR- Coachmen Inn. 3rd weekend in a row for the out in town deal. well the positive side was that "Jolly" Roger was at the coachmen too. Jolly is the Nav/Com officer on my air crew. a great guy to hang out with. time on the watch at this point, 22:25. duty driver gets the 3 of us to our destinations, and i get to my room. this is when i realize that NOTHING on whidbey island is open past 9:30pm. note to self. bring car next time.

04:30 saturday-"can i get the duty driver to come get me. i have a 5am preflight" keep in mind i had about 5 hours of sleep. i get to the hanger and get to brief. then an hour later its out to the plane, and we are setting it up to turn it on and warning lights galore and the lineman is signalling fire! pop the APU bottle, "evacuate the aircraft!!! Port observer! TACCO Report!"

08:07-on the ground, looking at the airplane, i shake my head. ok clear to get our gear off the plane. call maintenance, do we have a backup for this bird? no? ugh. thanks chief." drag the gear back in, quick debrief, and get ready for the family day.
catch a nap at my desk. and at 10am have to get out there and be civilized for the families. looking like i just woke up, the skipper asked if i was alright. yessir, lack of sleep is always good for the body, i had replied sarcasticly. after joking with the skipper for a few minutes, i had decided to return to my office. the downside is that my office is away from the hanger, in the ordnance shop.

13:00- Command picnic. food, fun, and 2 kegs of beer. oh and did i mention TONS of lil ones. and a massive full sheet cake. maybe a sheet and a half. yes huge. after grabbing a cup and some of that beer (bud light is not my favorite.) i head to the grill to get me some tasty vittles.
got suckered into a game of horse shoes(28 years old and only the 3rd ever game of horseshoes ever). more beer, another hot dog... 1500 on the watch.game of volleyball. (i ripped my new shorts*cries*) was part of several pictures with many many people. i finally met Jolly's wife. nice lady, very classy. i always thought if Roger was about 20 years younger and single he's be quite a catch. matter of fact he has a son that is my age. so yanno. LOL

1700- heading back to the hotel room. i relaxed on the bed watching tv when my cell phone rings "hey Squeaks!(my squadron nickname... do NOT ask!) we're gonna head to Mike's house and have some drinks, wanna come along?" tired, and comfy, i reluctantly accepted the invite and said yeah. i'm at the coachmen, i'll meet you at the lobby in 15.

needless to say i didnt get much leep saturday night. i didnt get back to the room untill about 1am. back at the hangar at 6, and being a spare set of hands on a no fly day, i get volunteered for a plane wash. (what fun!!) the plane wash was fun actually. over around 1030am, and then i was just holding a chair down all day sunday till the airlift.

1500- board the airlift. engines now turning, 592 rolling. at the end of the runway. "we're waiting for maintenance to release us safe for flight." then we turned around and returned to the flight line. joy. sitting on the deck we get told the colorado group was taking our plane 'cause theirs went down. wonderful.we have a spare, 320. so me and the eastern airlift head over there. and begin prepping the plane. about 20 minutes into this evolution i realize that no one is coming over

the VP-1 chief runs out and says that the airplane we just got off was waiting for us. *rolls eyes* (thanks chief) he tells us not to worry about unprepping it. so we run back to 592. with us there are 23 ppl on this plane. very uncomfy. ok 592 off the deck. arriving in COS (colorado springs) at 10pm. drop off 15 people and back in the air. to missoula at 12am. drop Ted off, back in the air and to spokane at 1am. i get off the plane. i finally got home at 3am. and was NOT going to work today. so needless to say ihad LONG weekend.

Unprofessional Approach...

Well to those of you that read this, you may have seen the KP Manager over my head several times. well that is no more. i have since left that club, citing a labor dispute over the behavior of one particular member of the owners group. i was told from the outset i would have to work for tips, because the owners werent sure what they would make. well im not really into "erotic dancing" so that method of payment was out the door. and finally when i brought the matter p again i was shut down again. i then began to scout other endeavors, and after i found a promising one, i get a ping over the employee channel. to the tune of if you cant only work for me, you wont work for me. to which i questioned whether she was looking into the profiles of her employees to keep tabs on things. and when i protested, i brought up the pay again.

needless to say i got nothing from the pay deal. and 10 minutes after i had quit, the other half of the owners group was im'ing me asking why i had quit. well the reason had been totally obvious to me. this girl doesn't work for free. that is when he told me they were about to begin paying me 1000 a week. and that he had a sick feeling when i quit. and i wasnt going to crawl back there. it is hard to work for someone you dont trust. i am awaiting a free evening to begin hosting for Spira Enterprizes. not sure how that will work out, but at least it pays money. and tips too. that and Dani and Erbo think i will do okay. =)

maybe this whole thing will work out for the good, god i hope so. well till next time...

CEO of Linden Labs sighted at 2:45pm at the shelter!!!!

This afternoon Phil Linden "dropped in" to the shelter. only staying a few minutes... (due to the mass spamming of the shelters group channel) when the masses began arriving to catch just a glimpse of this extremely rare linden. after asking several av's(me included) what we thought was messed up, and hearing the assets issue and the known presence isue several times, he poofed without a good bye. this blogger could not believe her eyes when philip appeared. truly a blessed day it is. a short glimpse of the rarest of the linden breed. after a few cameras were spotted... he turned skittish and fled into the pixels. but thils lucky blogger was able to snap a photo of him... one of the few known photos known to be in existance.

(bloggers note: when phil stopped by, there were 5 of us in the shelter.. when he left... the sim was almost full.) and now... at 3pmSLT the grid goes down from the known presence issues.

Reina Quine had bet Phil $5L and a Pony that the grid would go down some time tonight, and here it is. so Phil.. you owe Reina $5L and pony!!. LOL (what she really wants is the pony. LOL)

Yet another update

I havent figured out why, but just as we get used to the bugs in one update... they go and throw another update(yes... another one.. full of more bugs than before) on our backs and say... Use this... or no more SL for you. LOL havent noticed anything missing as of yet from my massive closet, however i havent really had to look for anythng yet.

ok on to RL things. 2 days off away from the weekend. lol only cause i needed them. i realized that it is too hot for activity(even inside the house) almost went and played some golf today, then decided against it. so far, my day has been full of being bored.. waiting for SL... more boredom, and childrens television.(gotta love the disney channel, and nick jr in the mornings) however i think i will live. its work tomorrow... and after 2 days off... im happy. LOL.

If you all havent heard yet... My little brother left for the Army on the 2nd of august. YAY for him!!!! about dang time i say. he called my mom and dad the other night from S.C. saying he has the week off before they form his platoon... wait a minute... A WEEK OFF?????? when i went through OCS way back when... we didnt get a week off untill we took leave after basic flight training.(for those of us that went to flight school) and we had to take the leave. counted against our basket leave. as in yeah... but giving the new recruits a week off before training?????? even a few enislted friends of mine are appauled at what we are doing for these newbies.

a really good friend of mine (name withheld due to the fact he is in afghanistan, and giving his name may violate OPSEC regulations) said to me in an email earlier this week.... he gets a week off? when i went through boot camp i didnt get a week off. i had a week of preliminary days where it was total hell. (he went to NTS Great Lakes, IL in 1997.) even my fiancee freaked out about that. what is this world coming too when we are training our warriors to become fat lazy bastards, and we cant punish them or discipline them like the old days. stress cards my rear end! we need 1970's marine corps discipline(thanks to my dad) where they could literally beat the recruit into submission. (dads comment) to those that dont know my father is a former USMC Drill Instructor. As you can see the military runs deep in my family. Unfortunately Shaunny cant serve due to her eyesight.

well enough griping. the military wants more from less and the way they train shows it. basic training anymore is a joke. the only one that actually means anything to the heart is the USMC. still the toughest(and in my dads mind the best) we go back and forth all the time. however it was one of his Corps "Brethren" that sent me through OCS. i have served next to marines. they truly are the best =) tee hee thanks Dad

A New Home...

Well, we have officially moved from gyeryong. last night i bought 1024sq m just south of seopophong, only about 200m(or so) from The Cutlass Club.

currently the grid is down for maintenance, which means linden owned land will get repaired, and the rest of us will continue to lag lag lag. and another freaking update be coming down the pike? i hope not. im tired of the endless updates... that dont seem to fix anything.
i cant beat the lag at all, everyplace lags, except my home. that doesnt lag. SL and my FL seem to parallel, my FL lags as much as SL does.

While at work yesterday, i got a call from home telling me that my replacement keyboard was there. this mind you after i was told it going to be 3-4 weeks because it was on backorder. am i complaining? NOOOOOO. i am glad it came early.

I am home safe and sound for now. there may be a lot more trips to spokane in my future, as a big account for my office is up in spokane., and apparently is my job to setup and maintain it. on a financial standpoint, it is huge. on a travel standpoint, i wish someone up there would have taken it.

anyway i am off to work and will see you guys and gals later this evening.

Today was a great day. the construction eased up and it only took me 5 mintues to get wher ei needed to go, and i didnt witness a near death experience, and i was able to go through the day without encountering a million stupid people.

i woke up at around 6am, and took my morning routine, yanno, shower, teeth, primp and prep...
i got to "work"early, and got settled in, and prepared for the day. it was my turn to deal with the airforce.

i went till lunch without a major incedent, and was enjoying a wonderful(read, quick and cheap) lunch. after lunch i had to go to the air force base. i got there about 1pm, and was held at the gate till 2 while they tried to figure out why i was there. i then called the people involved(read, 92 LRS commanding officer) and talked to the colonel. i then had to wait for him to call back

needless to say the air force staff sergeant that detained me at the gate will be having a meeting with the colonel within the week. even after he discovered that i was a O-4 in the navy, he still was very disrespectful. i got done with the colonel before the end of the day and returned to the motel there i am now happily watching tv and relaxing. only one moron today. that is definately a change from yesterday.

till tomorrow, maybe i will have more sarcasm and wit for you. but today was pure aggitation.

Stupid Drivers!

i lived in LA and Orange county from 1986 till 2001, and i have never whitnessed as many stupid drivers per capita than here in eastern washington. i watched some stupid guy come on the freeway this afternoon on my wa back to the hotel, he cut across 4 lanes of traffic, got to the fast lane, and then cut back across the same 4 lanes and as he was getting into the exit only lane(which was also the accelleration lane for the previous on ramp) he was sideswiped under the trailer of an 18 wheeler. so after an hour of talking to police officers and waiting in a closed freeway, i finally get back to the hotel, and so my evening commute was hell. before that guy about killed himself, i watched 4 different cars about wreck themselves in a construction zone, and then i watched a construction worker about get nailed by a elderly lady going way too fast in said construction zone.

so i believe i am going to head down to the restaurant and have dinner and a drink or 2 and relax. and get over the daily commute.

Tony Stewart pledges ANOTHER million dollars to the Victory Junction Gang Camp in North Carolina.

This weekend marks the 6th year since NASCAR Busch Series driver Adam Petty crashed in turn 3 at New hampshire International Speedway. well a bit late, with all the NASCAR schedule changes. May 12, 2000 first morning practice at NHIS, Adam Petty comes on the track in his #45 Busch car sponsored by Sprint, and o nhis 4th lap crashes hard into the turn 3 wall and dies of injuries sustained, thus kicking off the deadliest year in NASCAR history, before it would all be said and done, Adam, Kenny Irwin Jr, Tony Roper(craftsman truck series driver that died at phoenix) and 7 time winston cup champ Dale Earnhardt, would all given their lives to the sport they loved. well when Adam died at NHIS may 12, 2000 a special thing happened. the Victory Junction Gang Camp was dreamed up, in memory of Adam, the camp provides a place for special needs children to go and be kids for a while, where all their medications and medical needs are met with NO, and i mean NO finantial responsibility to the parents. since the camp opened in 2004, nascar drivers and fans alike have thrown money at Kyle and Patty Petty, to help cover the emense burden that a 27-30 milion dollar a year tab the camp racks up. There are those that say Tony doesnt have a heart. well this goes to show that Tony Stewart is anything but heartless. 2 milion donated since 2004. that is a massive, massive burden to take, even for a guy that makes 7+ million a year. with his owning the eldora speedway, and several cars in different racing series, and a private jet the man is spread about as thin as he can me. to just up and give someone a million dollars with his financial burden it massive. i applaud tony stewart, and would like to ask anyone that may read this, to go to www.victoryjunction.org and take a look around. compared to tony's million, my 100 dollars a year isnt much, but it is something that could help some young boy or girl be "normal" for a week.

there are many good charities that NASCAR backs, all the driver started foundations, they all do their part, but everyone needs to do their part to help these kids to lead as normal of a life as they can. as short as it may be, or as long and prosperous as it may be, we all can do a small part in helping these kids have a life they wouldnt have had if these fine organizations didnt exist.

yes i am a huge nascar fan, and also a tony stewart fan. that is a small reason why something like this made it into a blog about SL. i felt it needed to be addressed. =)

other than that, i sit here and i wait.

stepping into reality for a few minutes, there is some conflict in the world(like we all didnt already know that). Isreal is retaliating aginst Lebanon for an attack by a terrorist organization. Well, this doesnt bode well for those of us that put the uniform on, even a couple days out of the month. what this could mean is an extended trip back to the midle east for either me or my honey, or even both, providing the US does its normal jump in with both feet and still fail to get it done right(read any armed conflict since vietnam) but no worries mate! as a good friend of mine would say. the likelyhood of us going to either back isreal, or help lebanon(a very important anti-syrian government in the region, and a new "friend to the US") by "bitch slapping" isreal back into reality. now my fiancee's family is mostly jewish(he isnt thank god) and although he is decended from poles, isreal would be an important mission for him. so i know when he would love to go.

me on the other hand would rather the US not get involved and let isreal get bitch slapped by someone else. but if we lose isreal in the region we lose alot of balance out there. like we dont have enough to worry about out there in iraq and afghanistan. anyway now the grid appears to have come up but i cannot log in for some strange reason. *steps down from soap box*

Well, here it is the first ever post on my first ever blog.

This morning i was sitting at the computer, looking at the silver keyboard in front of me and i had to cry. =( yesterday my 80 dollar microsoft natural ergonomic keyboard 4000(not the 1000, or 2000, or 3000, but the 4000) passed away. at only 3 months old. i spent an hour on the phone with some guy from india trying to troubleshoot why it wasnt working. it got power and all that jazz. but i couldnt type at all. after said hour he agreed that a warranty replacement was the perfect option for me... with one catch. (knew this was coming) no it wasnt going to cost me anything. but the exact model was out of stock. so now i have to wait 2 to 3 weeks for it to come off back order than another 5-7 days to actually touch and fondle my favorite keyboard again (that is unless by some miracle the old one starts working again.) and 2 days ago my wireless router went TU. that was a 60 dollar(US not $L for al you SL'ers out there) solution. couldnt warranty the router for it is/was 2 years old. needless to say i have not had good luck with anything computers this week. i have been scared to touch my work computer because of that fact.

i figure that tonight will be a good night, for now i have several friends in SL online and hanging out at the shelter. pardon the lack of grammer skills. its a saturday and i dont have to make it a perfect deal =) those of you english teachers out there be warned. i dont capitalize every little thing. and may misspell a bit.(also for you typing teachers out there) =P hehe till next time.. keep your stick on the ice =)
